Nashville-based Hardcastle have released multiple bangers that have made them a band to watch. Comprised of Graham Laderman, Miles Laderman, Val Hoyt, Kaden Paulson, and Kyle Briskin, the quintet have been playing shows in the northeast over the past three years. Originally based in Atlanta, the band first garnered attention after winning a local radio station competition and opening for Cold War Kids. More recently, Hardcastle has scored a support slot at the Atlanta stop of The Griswolds spring tour, which they are buzzing about. The band noted over DM that they are “both thrilled and honored to be supporting the Griswolds and Dreamers in [their] hometown. [They] hope it’s the first of many shows with both bands and are excited to perform some new songs.”

Their first two singles, “Paralyzed” and “No Big Deal,” were released in 2016. Citing alternative and rock bands such as Bad Suns, The 1975, LANY, and Kings of Leon as some of their bigger inspirations, the band fits comfortably in the same realm with their guitar-heavy, rock-influenced sound.

“Paralyzed” is an upbeat, catchy track that has strongly established the band’s style. Currently sitting at 10,000 plays on SoundCloud and over 1,600 plays on Spotify, their first release has seen strong success and has generated many positive reviews. The band also released an acoustic version of the song on SoundCloud in December.

Their second release, “No Big Deal” (lovingly called NBD by fans), is a much more relaxed, stripped down song in comparison to “Paralyzed.” Crooning in the chorus that “it’s no big deal,” the different nature of the track already demonstrates the band’s ability to diversify their sound.

The group is currently working on releasing their next song in the coming weeks. In terms of when we should expect an album or EP, they “are currently working on finishing writing/revising songs that will eventually take form as some kind of EP/album.” Hopefully, we can expect the album in the late summer or early fall of this year. They also mentioned that as the year goes on and they complete the EP or album, they will be playing shows to support the release of their new music.
