Take jazz-infused beats a la GriZ, silky smooth R&B vocals, and a dose of lyrical optimism and you’ll get Dom McAllister. This young rising star from London has released two tracks- the optimistic “Walking” and funky “In Time”- via Ragamuffin Music, a publishing company launched by artist and writer JinJin (who penned hits for Jess Glynne and Olly Murs).
Currently opening for Izzy Bizu on her European tour, Dom McAllister performed to a sold out O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, a 2,000 cap venue in London. His youth is endearing, but besides having a young face there’s no way to tell McAllister isn’t a seasoned professional- his vocal control is impressive, and the mix of unreleased tracks plus his two singles is upbeat enough to get the crowd moving.
